Andrew and Margaret met in the Fall of 2021 when Margaret joined Andrew’s soccer team with all his childhood friends. On the very first game, Andrew gave Margaret a particularly enthusiastic high five. He later messaged her to apologize, and Margaret realized she got butterflies every time she saw a message from the cute guy on her soccer team.

Margaret found herself looking forward to Thursday nights, not just for the soccer, but for the chance to see Andrew. The feeling was mutual. So mutual, in fact, that even as Andrew’s friends dropped off the team one by one until he was the only one remaining, he continued to play for the opportunity to see Margaret.

After one game in the spring of 2023, Andrew worked up the courage to ask Margaret out. That first date turned into an eight-hour adventure, beginning with a tour around San Francisco in one of Andrew’s classic BMWs and ending with a stick shift lesson along the Marina Green.

Margaret and Andrew went on many more dates, including Giants games, exploring local gems, and cooking meals together. They discovered a shared love of going to the movies and following the Premier League. They traveled across the country visiting loved ones and moved in together in 2024.

In August 2025, Andrew told Margaret there was a car meetup he wanted to check out. An on-brand Andrew request, but what Margaret didn’t know was that there was no meetup at all. Instead, Andrew led Margaret to a spot they visited on their first date night to propose.
